As many of you will know, we had our launch/farewell/fundraiser party on Monday night, at our favourite drinking hole, The Hop Garden.

We launched our mascots, Beamur and Sodt (stay tuned for an upcoming blog post about them and their backstories), got aimee’s head rubbed a lot, drank far too much, auctioned off some great things, and got to say a fond hello/goodbye to a number of people who, against all logic, seem to like us :P

Much, MUCH fun seemed to be had, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to the people who came, who bid on our auctions*, and who donated. And a HUGE thank you to The Hop Garden, who opened especially for us!**

Items we auctioned off included a three course meal with matched drinks for the Hop Garden and photography and painted portraiture sessions.  Assuming everyone who successfully won an auction comes forward, we raised a coupla hundred dollars there.

Also, and very excitingly, people were really generous with emptying their pockets into our donation tin (chosen especially because aimee thought it was a funny reference to the Rally. It’s also a truly extraodinary beer). In total, the cash in that tin came to $331, 40. Not bad. Not bad at all :)

We said all donations would go to charity, and we meant it: the Mongolian Charity we’re supporting, the Lotus Children’s Centre Charitable Trust, now has that little bit more cash – have a look at our donations page for the charity (and donate yourself!).
